August 27, 2027 (Fort Worth, TX) – TMJ is pleased to announce the signing of Spanish World Cup champion and TMJ Athlete Jenni Hermoso to Atlético de Madrid Feminino ahead of the 2026/2027 Liga F season.
Jenni returns to the club that started it all after a storied career that has seen her make history all throughout the world. Most recently, she played for Tigres UANL Femenil in Mexico where she supported the team in winning their seventh league title during the Apertura 2025 season, scoring over 30 goals for the Nuevo León-based squad since joining in 2024.
Prior to that, Hermoso entered the Mexican league with Pachuca Femenil in 2022. She contributed 18 goals during the Clausura 2023 regular season and three goals during Pachuca’s playoff run, having her tie the record for overall goals throughout the course of the entire Clausura.
The Madrid-born footballer saw the beginning of her professional career start at Atlético de Madrid before moving to other top European clubs including PSG and Barcelona. Her European resume is outstanding, with seven Spanish league titles, five Copa de la Reina trophies, a UEFA Women’s Champions League title, a five-time Pichichi winner and a Coupe de France Féminine title.
On the national team side, Jenni debuted with the U19 Spain squad in 2007, securing a brace in her first match. In 2011, she received her first official call-up and played in her first debut match in 2012 and became a difference maker. She went on to play in all 10 qualifying matches in the lead up to the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup and helped the qualify for the tournament for the first time. In 2021, Hermoso became Spain’s all-time highest goal-scorer after scoring five goals against Azerbaijan. In 2023, she was part of the historic squad that secured their first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup title as well as earned herself the Silver Ball award, contributing three goals and two assists. She also was part of the 2024 UEFA Women’s Nations League Championship team.
A champion on and off the field, Jenni Hermoso has established herself as not just a great footballer but an advocate for the advancements of women’s football, a Ballon d’Or runner up in 2021, being named to the Time 100 most influential people list in 2024 and the Financial Times 25 Most Influential Women of 2023. Her third run in Spain after so many years is a symbol of the growth that has been possible, with Jenni a direct force that has changed Spanish football history.
