The path to building the future of women’s football involves continuously investing to develop a never-broader platform for the benefit of women footballers; that has always been part of TMJ’s DNA. TMJ’s quest to global expansion has taken a new step towards the future by welcoming Austin Buchanan as a new Agent and the Head of Scouting, Recruitment & Player Development to further strengthen the agency’s standalone and evolving Agents Division.

Austin comes to TMJ with a vast amount of experience in women’s soccer and soccer as a whole. He joins the agency after serving as Director of Scouting & Strategy at Bay FC, where he led the club’s expansion project through international and US player recruitment processes, as well as recruiting young talent for the U-18 division.

Prior to his experience at Bay FC, Austin served as Director of Strategy and Compliance for Soccer Holdings, where he led the negotiation and transfer processes of players for USL Championship and NWSL teams. As if that were not enough, he was also Director of Analytics for Racing Louisville FC. Austin’s experience in women’s soccer is unmatched. His level of expertise with multiple tool sand processes for analyzing sports statistics and frequent involvement in multiple negotiation processes with agents and main stakeholders in the industry makes him incredibly valuable.

“There’s no denying 2024 has been a transformational year for Women’s Football and for TMJ. We couldn’t be prouder to end the year by Welcoming Austin Buchanan to the agency as our newest Agent and Head of Scouting, Recruitment & Player Development” stated TMJ Founder &Co-CEO, Guillermo Zamarripa. “At a time where NWSL has become one of our main pillars, it was important to increase our agent team’s bandwidth and capabilities within the US Soccer market. I can’t think of anyone better to join our Agent team than someone that has had so much success across the league. Can’t wait to see him provide value to our clients on and off the field.

Buchanan stated: “Making this move, at this stage in my career, shows just how special TMJ is, and how incredible our athletes are. Guillermo, Oscar, and the entire team supporting TMJ have been unwaveringly dedicated to advancing women’s football and supporting women. I am honored to be a part of this incredible team.”

“As we continue supporting women’s football and deepen our commitment to move it forward, we know how important it is to have the most competitive team we can support us in important decisions regarding talent acquisition and development,”

TMJ Co-Founder Oscar Gonzalez shared. “Thanks to his experienced and well educated eye and expertise in the women’s game, our athletes and team will have access to a world-class professional in the industry.”

TMJ’s stance as a data-driven agency began months ago, signing a historic agreement with StatsBomb to access the highest level of statistics in the industry. Austin’s arrival in conjunction with this partnership Stats Bomb will allow TMJ to effectively track the performance of its roster of players, scout potential new talents and analyze how the players fit into specific clubs or playing philosophies. In this way, TMJ continues to be an innovative institution in its structure and further exemplifies its status as a pioneer in the industry. Today the agency ‘Where Women’s Football Rules’ can pride itself on a work team never before seen, establishing a new standard of work and service that will allow it to increasingly improve its ability to meet the requests and needs of its players in an industry that continues to evolve day by day.
