The TMJ Athlete joins the Washington-based NWSL team after conquering international leagues in North America and Europe.
July 10, 2025 (Fort Worth, TX) – TMJ Athlete and US Women’s National Team forward Mia Fishel has signed to Seattle Reign from Chelsea FC Women in the WSL with yet another historic contract for a TMJ Athlete in the NWSL.
“This is one of the biggest steps in my career right now as I prepare for some big international tournaments,” said Mia Fishel. “We’re in this period of trying to make a team for the World Cup and the next Olympics so I feel like going to Seattle was the perfect place to be my best self as a player and a person.”
Fishel joins Seattle Reign after a nearly two-year run in England with Chelsea FC Women, where she won two league titles, an FA Cup and a FA Women’s League Cup. Prior to that, she was with Tigres UANL Femenil in the Liga MX Femenil in Mexico, winning the 2022 Apertura league title as well Liga MX Femenil Golden Boot, becoming the first foreign player to win the award.
“Coming from Mexico and England, I’ve accumulated so many tools in my toolbox that I’m ready to unleash it in my hometown league which is the NWSL,” she continued. This league is one of the best in the world, and I’m ready for the challenge. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to the team’s success.”
Mia also shined at the youth levels before going professional, playing at the U15, U17 and U20 levels within US Soccer. In 2020, she scored 13 goals in the Concacaf U20 Championship – the most of any US youth national team player in a single tournament. She was the Pac-12 Conference Champion in 2020 and 2021 with UCLA.
“Mia Fishel has always done things her way and this move not only further promotes Mia’s self-advocacy, but validates it,” stated Co-CEO, Founder and Principal Agent, Guillermo Zamarripa. “Whether it’s foregoing the draft after her incredible performances at UCLA, heading to Mexico at a time when many undervalued it, or going abroad, it’s been an incredible privilege to witness her succeed on her own terms up close. Now it’s time to see her magic in her own domestic league.”
