Nigeria National Team Defender Michelle Alozie Signs to Chicago Stars FC

The TMJ Athlete and reigning WAFCON Champion will join the Chicago Stars from the Houston Dash

December 23, 2025 (Fort Worth, TX) – TMJ is pleased to announce that Nigeria National Team Player Michelle Alozie has signed with the Chicago Stars entering the 2026 NWSL season.  

“I’m excited to be starting a new chapter with the Stars,” shared Michelle. “I’m looking forward to meeting the team, connecting with them on and off the field, and seeing [the] fans, both in the city and in the stands.” 

The Apple Valley, California native was previously with the Houston Dash, joining the team in August of 2021 as a trialist and quickly caught on, playing in 76 regular season games over the next five seasons.  

On the international level, Michelle has been a part of the Nigeria Super Falcons since 2021, representing Nigeria in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Michelle continued being an integral part of the Super Falcons, playing in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games and helping win the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, including scoring a crucial goal in the semifinals. 

Prior to that, Michelle played collegiate soccer for Yale University from 2015 through 2018, winning Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and receiving a degree in Molecular Biology from the esteemed institution. Michelle took her education and continued utilizing it alongside her professional soccer journey in Houston, working as a pediatric cancer research technician at the Texas Children’s Hospital.
